"Please do not publish. We understand that historic Monopoli sees a lot of tourists. In many restaurants, the servers were rude and unkind, clearly showing their dislike for tourists. Toward the end of our Stay, we made extra effort to try to make friends and be as pleasant as possible. We found a few places that were genuinely kind to us and that’s where we had dinner most nights. We haven’t decided if we’ll return again. This was our third trip to Monopoli. This trip we enjoyed Sottocoperta. They were so friendly!! We also liked getting bread and rest Il Forno delle Meraviglie bakery. I went to the produce store, FruittAmore e tradizione and always felt they were charging me more than other customers. I hope this is helpful. You have a beautiful city! "

"We loved Monopoli. It was nice swimming off the rocks so close to town. It will be great when the new beach area has finished its upgrade. The place was relatively clean. There were lots of great restaurants. "

"On the positive side, I am absolutely delighted with Monopoli - its beautiful old town, wonderful restaurants, and incredibly friendly people. Not only the staff in shops, supermarkets and restaurants, but the local residents in general. We felt very safe walking around, even late in the evening.
As I run every morning, I really missed a proper seaside promenade. I would strongly encourage you to consider investing in one stretching for several kilometres, perhaps connecting Monopoli with Polignano a Mare. It could become a fantastic place not only for sports and outdoor activities, but also for romantic walks.
I also missed having more rubbish bins around the city. In Poland, they are literally everywhere, which makes it much easier for people to dispose of their rubbish properly instead of leaving it on the streets. It would be a relatively small cost in the context of the city budget, while the benefit could be much greater - cleaner streets and public spaces.
For me personally, it was quite inconvenient to carry rubbish around in my backpack and only be able to dispose of it once I returned to the apartment.
To sum up - we fell in love with Monopoli! ❤️"
